Tesla sales fall 4.8% in Q2 2024

Tesla, the American electric vehicle manufacturer, announced its commercial results for the second quarter of the year, a period that follows the worst quarter in recent years. Between April and June, the brand’s performance improved considerably compared to the first three months of the year, but was below the best values ever achieved.following the slowdown in demand for battery-powered vehicles that has affected most manufacturers dedicated to this technology.

In the second quarter of 2024, Tesla sold 443,956 units, a value down 4.8% compared to the 466,140 vehicles it sold in the same period in 2023. Even so, the volume of units traded exceeded analysts’ expectations, who forecast 438,019 units, and easily exceeded sales in the first quarter of 2024, which stood at 386,810 cars sold.

Tesla posts worst quarter ever. Sales down 8.5% and production down 1.7%

As usual, the best-selling Tesla models between April and June were the most affordable onesrespectively the Model Y and the Model 3, with a total of 422,405 units (the brand announces values as a whole, without discriminating the sales of each model), while the trio formed by the Model S, X and Cybertruck represented 21,551 units. In the last quarter, the North American manufacturer manufactured 410,831 vehicles and took advantage of the opportunity to sell the units that it could not sell in the previous quarter, as they were in transit through South Africa, due to the attacks on transport ships in the Red Sea.
