National Public Radio (NPR) now uses the euphemism “pregnancy abortion” instead of talking about the abortion of a fetus or child.
“A 41-year-old woman faces serious charges in Nebraska for allegedly helping her teenage daughter illegally terminate her pregnancy,” NPR reporter Martin Caste said. Wrote Friday
Doubling down on her opinion, Caste added, “The conversations showed that the pregnancy was aborted, not a miscarriage, as it was said.”
Needless to say, a woman does not suffer or endure a miscarriage. pregnancy; he brings or goes astray child.
By comparison, Google defines “abortion” as “having or having an abortion (fetus)”. The Britannica Dictionary says the word means “intentional termination of pregnancy by causing the death of the fetus.”
Similarly, Lexico.com defines abortion as “the performance or abortion of (the fetus)”.
Shamelessly pro-abortion NPR is one of the main media outlets that refers to the pro-life movement as the “anti-abortion rights movement” or simply the “anti-abortion movement”.
According to NPR’s official abortion policy:
In publication, we should use “abortion rights advocate(s)” and “abortion rights opponents” or derivatives thereof (for example, “abortion rights advocates”). You can use the phrase “anti-abortion,” but don’t use the term “pro-abortion rights.”
According to NPR’s public editor, the terms he uses are “largely apolitical, since neither side uses these terms regularly, and therefore NPR cannot be accused of using one party’s terminology rather than a party.”
