The Syrian Foreign Ministry pointed out that “cheap statements by the head of the Turkish regime about the creation of a security zone in northern Syria testify to the aggressive games that this regime is plotting against Syria and the unity of its land and people.” She called what Erdogan and the Turkish authorities are doing “heinous deals that demonstrate the absence of the minimum political and moral understanding to resolve the crisis in Syria.”

And she emphasized in her statement: “The establishment of such a zone is not at all aimed at protecting the border areas between Syria and Turkey,” revealing that “the main goal is colonialism and is aimed at creating an explosive outpost, which basically helps to realize terrorist plans directed against the Syrian people.”

The Foreign Ministry stressed that “the Syrian government declares its absolute rejection of such games,” and called on “the countries of the region and abroad, which have invested in financing and propaganda of these criminal projects, immediately stop supporting the Turkish regime and realize their demonic delusions.”
