Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov condemned Washington’s decision to supply the “HIMARS” missile system to Kiev, noting that the supply of these weapons increases the risk of a direct collision between Russia and America.
In a press release, Ryabkov said, “The United States is doing nothing to find some kind of solution to the crisis in Ukraine. That was the exact situation for many years before Russia’s special military operation began. That’s what happened. was working on providing guarantees last fall. (from NATO) to Russia Any request is valid, there is no indication that the United States is ready to give up the escalating tensions and open conflict. ”
Noting that U.S. military support in Kiev was unprecedented and dangerous, Ryabkov said, “After the start of Russia’s special military operation, the remaining responsible and correct approach to the situation was recklessly canceled, and despite of all, the American strategy and the desire to continue the war remain. In the last Ukrainian. and now Washington is trying to do everything possible to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia… This has not been done and it is dangerous. ”
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister explained that no matter how defensive and presenting Washington’s arguments, any arms supply to Ukraine raises the risk of direct confrontation between Russia and the United States.
Also, the White House said the United States will provide Ukraine on Wednesday with a new military aid package that includes the “HIMARS” missile system.
