Faisal Mikdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs of Syria, today received a copy of the credentials of Wahid Mubarak Al-Sayyar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Syria and Bahrain and ways to strengthen them in various fields for the benefit of the two peoples and two fraternal countries.

At the start of the meeting, Miqdad welcomed the appointment of Al-Sayyar as Bahrain’s ambassador to Syria, wishing him well in his duties to strengthen relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, emphasizing Syria’s desire for the best possible relationship with Bahrain. and all the fraternal Arab countries, and that the Arab people are united by history, common destiny and common concerns. He pointed to the need to work to purify the Arab atmosphere and improve the Arab situation in order to face common challenges.

For his part, Al-Sayyar expressed his joy at his appointment as his country’s ambassador to Damascus, emphasizing Bahrain’s desire to strengthen relations with Syria and develop joint cooperation with it in all areas. He emphasized the depth of brotherly relations that unite Syria and Bahrain, expressing the desire to work on the development and expansion of these relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.

He stressed that Bahrain is seeking to clean up the Arab atmosphere, noting that his country supports the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and refuses to interfere in its internal affairs. He stressed that he would work to intensify the cooperation agreements signed between the two countries in order to intensify cooperation and bring it to the highest level, expressing his desire to hold meetings of the joint economic committee between the two countries as soon as possible.
