Amid escalating violent fighting in eastern Ukraine and their withdrawal from Donbas between Russian and Ukrainian forces, the United States has confirmed that Moscow has broader plans.
A senior Pentagon official confirmed Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has goals and plans for Ukraine as a whole.
But he clarified that, according to Reuters, the Kremlin master has temporarily retreated and now has to settle for certain tactical goals.
The remarks come as tensions between Russia and the West, particularly the United States, escalate over Kyiv’s support for advanced and advanced weapons and missiles, especially long-range missiles, which have angered the Kremlin.
Also coinciding with the violent fighting and the significant advance of Russian forces in eastern Ukraine, weeks ago, after the start of the second phase of Russian military operations, after the withdrawal from the Kyiv region in March.
