According to “Riya” news agency, citing the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that the explosion on Tuesday at the Russian air base in Crimea occurred due to the explosion of ammunition and there were no casualties.
The ministry added that there was no attack on the base in this explosion and no damage was done to military equipment.
Video clips on social media showed smoke rising from the area. It was still not possible to confirm the authenticity of these clips.

Two witnesses said that at least 12 explosions of varying intensity were heard within a minute.
There has been no news from the Ukrainian side about an attack in the region. It is unclear whether Ukraine has officially targeted Crimea since the start of the Russian invasion.
For decades, Russia has leased the seaport of Sevastopol, home to its Black Sea fleet, from Kyiv, but in 2014 it annexed all of Crimea from Ukraine.
The peninsula, which is still under Russian control, has not been part of the cycle of hostilities in other parts of eastern and southern Ukraine since February 24, when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian armed forces to begin military operations in Ukraine.
