Russian detainees prepare alleged attack on Ukraine’s defense minister

Ukraine’s secret services announced on Tuesday the arrest of suspected Russian spies on suspicion of preparing an attack on Defense Minister Oleksij Resnikov and military secret chief Kyrilo Budanov.

“Assassins from Russian special units planning attacks were arrested,” the Ukrainian secret service SBU said on the Telegram platform.

The SBU also released a video it said was of the arrest of two men in plain clothes. The two suspects were detained in Kovel, in northwestern Ukraine. One of them had arrived in the country through Belarus, the Ukrainian secret service said.

You the men would receive a total reward of 300 thousand dollars (294 thousand euros) if they managed to kill Resnikov and Budanov, the SBU moved on.
