The Ukrainian General Staff reported on Sunday that Ukrainian forces were able to repel Russian advances in the eastern Donetsk region towards the cities of Slovyansk, Kramatorsk and Avdiivka.
In addition, a deputy from the largely Russian-occupied Kherson region said Ukrainian forces managed to destroy a Russian ammunition depot during a counter-offensive this weekend.
The Russian armed forces, for their part, reported that this Sunday they destroyed an ammunition depot in the Ukrainian region of Odessa, where US HIMARS rocket launchers were stored.
Russian aerospace forces destroyed a fuel depot in the Zaporizhia region, where more than 100 tons of diesel was stored.
The Russian army adds, on balance, that the Ukrainian forces lost more than 100 soldiers and seven armored vehicles in the Mikolaiv and Kherson regions.
The war was triggered by the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24 this year, which was condemned by the international community at large.
