With the continuation of the political crisis in Iraq and the high tension between the Sadr movement led by the powerful Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr and the coordination framework including Nouri al-Maliki and Fatah coalition. As the factions loyal to Iran, the president of the Iraqi Kurdistan region apparently started his movements and mediation between Baghdad and Najaf.

Al-Arabiya – Hadath reporter reported that the head of the region, Nachirvan Barzani, who traveled to Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and the city of Najaf, will meet with a number of political leaders and discuss the political impasse. Suggested solutions

At the same time, there were warnings of a protracted civil war similar to what Lebanon witnessed or the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

Fazel Mirani, the secretary of the political office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (al-Sadr’s ally) warned against the occurrence of conflicts similar to the Lebanese civil war in Iraq. And calling for any “nightmare of facing – if it happens – the revolution in the equation makes it more difficult than expected.”

He also emphasized the need not to rely on forcing the parties to face each other, such as confronting Iran and Iraq in the 1980s or the Lebanon war to exhaust the forces and then present another Iraq full of liquidationist projects without a decision.

He also warned against putting pressure on the official side to support parties ready to play the main role in the escalation of tension or confrontation.

It is worth noting that the country has been living for ten months, that is, since the parliamentary elections held on October 10th, in which the Sadr movement won the largest share of MPs, without being able to form.
