German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht pointed out that “Russian forces have the opportunity to open a new front of hostilities and expand the conflict on a regional scale.”
Earlier in the day, EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell noted that EU foreign ministers had agreed to suspend the visa facilitation agreement for Russian citizens, explaining that “we don’t want to break our relationship with Russian society, and with certain groups of Russians speaking against the war, there will be different attitudes,” he said, noting that “valid visas must be taken into account, and the understanding of their current situation is based on the opinion of the European Commission.” The Union Foreign Ministers agreed to further adjust the standards of military assistance sent to Ukraine.
