Iran’s foreign ministry said, “There is a new approach to negotiations in Saudi Arabia to resume relations with us, and this is an important issue,” according to a report by the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.
On August 20, Abul Fadl Amui, a spokesman for the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Shura Council of Iran, stated that “Our talks in the Gulf region are being seriously monitored. Building, strengthening and revitalizing bilateral relations is an important issue. it takes work and time, and we should not expect these goals to be achieved immediately, but in all cases, our main goal is to preserve and ensure national interests.
He pointed out, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency, that “the government has taken the path of dialogue to restore relations with Saudi Arabia, and the information we have received is that we have reached a very good level in this area. .There is hope that soon diplomatic negotiations will take place between the two countries, because this measure, of course, can become a prelude to the revival of political relations.
Aoi explained, “Although Iran, as an active state in the region, may criticize Saudi Arabia’s position on regional and international issues, this issue will not negate the existence of bilateral relations to solve problems and exchange views on various issues.”
