Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday called on the Russians to protest against the mobilization to the Ukrainian front announced by the Kremlin or, instead, “surrender” to the kyiv forces.

“55,000 Russian soldiers died in this war in six months (…) Do you want more? Nope? Then protest! Struggle! run away! Or give up” to the Ukrainian army, Zelensky said, this time in Russian, in the traditional daily video address.

“These are your options to survive. You are already accomplices of all the crimes [do exército russo], murders and torture of which Ukrainians are victims. Because they are silent. Because they remain silent”, accused Zelensky, arguing that the Moscow authorities are preparing a mobilization that could reach a million men.

Officially, Moscow announced on Wednesday the mobilization of 300,000 reservists.

It’s time for you to choose. For men in Russia, it is the choice to die or live, become disabled or stay healthy. For women in Russia, the choice is to lose their husbands, their children, their grandchildren forever or try to protect them in any way against death, against war, against the only man. [o Presidente russo, Vladimir Putin]Zelensky insisted.

More than 1,300 people were arrested on Wednesday during demonstrations against impromptu mobilizations across Russia, according to the non-governmental organization OVD-Info.

The announcement of the mobilization also caused a strong influx of Russians who wanted to leave the countrywith queues recorded at land borders with various countries and at airports.

The Kremlin has already denied this influx, calling it a “heavily exaggerated” phenomenon by politicians and the press.
