The Ukrainian government accused this Friday that Russian troops left explosives hidden in toys during their withdrawal from the city of Kherson, in the south of the country, which increases the danger to the civilian population.

The adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Rostyslav Smirnov, made the statement during the broadcast of a fundraising program that is broadcast simultaneously on all Ukrainian television channels, according to the local news agency Ukrinform.

Smirnov indicated that, after the withdrawal of Russian soldiers from the important city that Moscow came to occupy completely, the main task of the Ukrainian Army is to clear the area to make it safe????????

“Currently, the main focus is demining. The number of mines is extremely large in Kherson. I constantly receive photographic documents [sobre munição descoberta] in children’s toys, there was a mine between two soccer balls (…)”, declared the Ukrainian government official.

Smirnov added that in the liberated territories of the Kherson region and in its capital, teams have already removed more than 5,000 explosive objects.

Russian soldiers left part of the Kherson region just a few weeks ago and withdrew to the right bank of the Dnieper River, which divides the city.

Kherson, in southern Ukraine, is one of four Ukrainian regions that Russia has unilaterally annexed, along with neighboring Zaporizhia, as well as Lungansk and Donetsk in the east of the country.

Despite the declaration of annexation, the Russian army never fully controlled any of these regions and had to withdraw from much of Kherson after the advance of Ukrainian troops.
