The Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, joined the Ukrainian authorities this Saturday in the ceremonies on the occasion of the “Holodomor” catastrophe and blamed Moscow for causing, as almost a century ago, an “artificial famine” as a result of the invasion.

“We met in the 1990s, on the anniversary of the ‘Holodomor,’ which was artificially created by the Russian communist regime. Today we are about to witness another artificial famine caused by Russia in the countries of Africa and Southeast Asia,” he warned.

Several European leaders traveled to kyiv this Saturday to commemorate the “Holodomor”, the famine caused by Stalin 90 years ago in Ukraine, when he ordered the confiscation of crops in the name of collectivization of the land, and which Ukraine considers a “genocide”.

For the Polish prime minister, the blockade of the Ukrainian ports by Russia, now open thanks to the indirect agreement reached between kyiv and Moscow for the release of grain and fertilizers, would mean the blockade of humanitarian aid.

“There can only be one outcome in the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine: either Ukraine will win, or all of Europe will lose. Europe saw the threat from Russia too late, so we cannot delay aid to Ukraine,” declared the head of the Polish government.

Mateusz Morawiecki, who participated in the ceremonies accompanied by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simontye, members of the Lublin Triangle trilateral cooperation agency, said the war will end when “Ukraine gets back all all the houses, all the schools, all the hospitals, all the bridges and roads”.

“Poland and Lithuania will support Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he said, in statements collected by Ukrinform.

The “Holodomor”, which means extermination by starvation in Ukrainian, was committed by the Stalinist regime in Soviet Ukraine, also known as “The Great Famine” or “The Famine-Terror”, and caused about 3.5 million victims. between 1932 and 1933.
