The president-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, affirmed on Monday that the Brazilian people have recovered the right to live in democracy, during the ceremony at the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) in which he was certified as future ruler.
This diploma that I received is not a diploma from President Lula, it is a diploma from an important part of the people who have recovered the right to live in democracy in this country. You have earned this diploma, ”he stated at the beginning of his speech.
“First of all, I want to thank the Brazilian people for the honor of leading this country for the third time”he added, visibly moved.
The act confirmed the victory of the progressive leader and that of the vice president, Geraldo Alckmin, who are now enabled to assume office on January 1, 2023, after the result found at the polls on October 30, in an act that brought together hundreds of authorities in the TSE, in Brasilia.
