The young African American man was fatally beaten by police earlier this month. The agents were arrested and fired, but the posting of the video again sparked protests and even a reaction from Joe Biden.
Police in the city of Memphis, in the US state of Tennessee, released Friday night the videos captured by the body cameras of the officers who killed the young African-American Tire Nichols after police violence during a traffic control operation.
In the footage, officers can be seen violently attacking the man multiple times while insistently ordering him to lie down on the ground, even as Nichols is already prostrate. In addition to body camera footage, police also released surveillance camera footage near the location where Nichols was last attacked, before the ambulance arrived, which took more than 20 minutes to reach the scene.
