New attack in Jerusalem leaves two injured. The striker is 13 years old.

Two people were wounded in a new attack in Jerusalem, hours after the shooting at a synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, that killed seven people on Friday.

Israel’s emergency services, according to Sky News, report that they have been called to an “attack” near the historic Old City of Jerusalem. The two men who were injured, ages 23 and 47, were taken to hospitals and are father and son.

The police have already indicated that they neutralized the attacker on Saturday. According to the Israeli press, the attacker is 13 years old and Palestinian. He was wounded by the police forces.

On Saturday, Israeli police also said they had arrested dozens of people after Friday’s attack near the synagogue. “The police have arrested 42 suspects for questioning, some of whom are members of the terrorist’s family,” the police said in a statement, quoted by Lusa.

Police had already identified the gunman, a 21-year-old man from east Jerusalem who died on Friday while being chased by police forces.

The shooting on Saturday occurred a day before the arrival in the region of the US Secretary of State, António Blinken.
