“Burn it all.” For Russian presenter Vladimir Solovyov, this is Russia’s only possible response to the decision by Ukraine’s allies to send, for the first time, Western main battle tanks. And he pointed out the different targets one by one: the capitals of Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, the “Nazi countries that made the decision to go to war with Russia.”
“They are sending tanks to Ukraine to kill Russian soldiers on Russian soil. And we say, ‘okay, let’s burn them.’ Where? Berlin, Paris, Madrid, London, Washington should be burning”, he defended during a program broadcast on the Rossiya 1 channel of Russian state television.

The Kremlin propagandist, known as the “voice of Putin”, went further, suggesting that Russia should therefore turn to its arsenal of strategic nuclear weapons. “Avoiding a nuclear war is the most important thing? So why do we have strategic nuclear weapons? (…) Why don’t they target the capitals of the Nazi nations, their strategic air bases, the entire nuclear triad that NATO countries can use against us?“he said, according to a translation from El Español.
Live on Russian television, Solovyov, who has been subjected to UK and European Union sanctions, also said that the “World War III is already underway”. There was no shortage of criticism of the European leadership, directed in particular at the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, for having promised and authorized the shipment of Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine. The head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrell, was also criticized for having defended the delivery of this weapon to kyiv.
In a speech lasting about 20 minutes, the presenter also blamed the United States and the United Kingdom for the explosions that hit the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in September last year.
On September 26, three explosions were detected in the gas pipelines, which start from Russia and transport gas to Europe. The attack resulted in four gas leaks in the economic zones of Sweden and Denmark, in the Baltic Sea. Some countries have blamed Russia – accusations the Kremlin has always denied – but for Soloviev there is no doubt who is to blame.

“They blew up our gas pipelines, which caused us to lose millions of euros and that had no repercussions for international terrorists. The United States and the United Kingdom are behind this and we have not done anything. And now they are handing out offensive weapons and we do nothing,” he said. The presenter stresses that it is time for the Russian government to act: “Do you still have doubts that this is a war against Russia?”
