Driver Who Killed Someone in New York Blames ‘Invisible Object’ for Attack

The driver who left one dead and eight injured after hitting a sidewalk in New York claimed the attack was prompted by an “invisible object.” The man has a history of mental illness.

The man who fatally struck a person on a sidewalk in New York on Monday was suffering from an apparent mental health crisis after seeing an “invisible object,” police said.

Weng Sor, 62 years old, He was accused of homicide and attempted homicide, after having assaulted those who were circulating on the sidewalkin Brooklyn, while being chased by the police.

The chaos lasted about 48 minutes and ended with police authorities backing the vehicle against a building. One person died and eight were injured.

Sor, with a history of violence and mental illness, told police an “invisible object” triggered the attack, Chief Detective James Essig said Tuesday.

Sor’s family reported that the man would have stopped taking the medicationadded Essig.

“He said that while driving the truck, he sees an invisible object heading towards the vehicle. At that moment, he says: “‘I’m tired of it’ and continues in his destructive fury,” said the person in charge.

Weng Sor lived in Las Vegas with his mother and traveled to New York last week after spending time in Florida and being detained twice in the days leading up to the attack, police added.
