Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again asked European leaders on Wednesday to supply him with long-range missiles and modern combat aircraft, in a videoconference intervention at the European Council in which he called for new sanctions on Moscow.
In an intervention by videoconference made from a train, in the Ukraine —and, meanwhile, interrupted— Zelensky warned the leaders of the European Union (EU), meeting at a summit in Brussels, of the risk of the war prolongingif long-range missiles and modern combat aircraft are not provided.
In the speech, made upon returning from a trip to the combat front in Kherson, he thanked the military aid already sent since the start of the Russian aggression, on February 24, 2022.

The Ukrainian leader also called for the adoption of new sanctions against Russia (Brussels is already on its 10th package of restrictive measures), progress in Ukraine’s accession negotiations to the EU and progress in the peace process.

Back in the Ukrainian capital, President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the destruction caused by the Russian attacks. “On the free territory of the Kherson region, the invaders almost completely destroyed more than 50 settlements. In some places, more than 90% of the buildings are in ruins, ”he revealed in his usual speech.
The Ukrainian leader revealed that Russian forces have again shelled the Kherson region, hitting the local administration, houses and even a museum in Beryslav. “Even the Beryslav Historical Museum is a threat to Russia, for some reason”he claimed.
