“I can confirm that a US diplomatic delegation under fire” in Sudan on Monday, Anthony Blinken said.
“All of our staff and safe and sound”, but this is an “irresponsible act,” the official added, at the end of a two-day meeting of foreign ministers from the Group of the seven most industrialized countries in the world (G7) in the Japanese city of Karuizawa.

Clashes between the Sudanese regular army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the paramilitary forces of former ally General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo, known as “Hemedti”, have caused at least 185 deaths and wounded 1,800 since Saturday, the UN said.
UN envoy Volker Perthes told reporters that the two sides are using tanks, artillery and other heavy weapons in densely populated areas.
