South Carolina judge blocks law banning abortion at six weeks

It lasted less than a day. The law promulgated this Thursday in the state of South Carolina and that prohibits abortion after six weeks of gestation is suspended.

A judge in North Carolina, USA, suspended the abortion law after six weeks of pregnancy, a measure that was promulgated this Thursday by the Republican governor of the US state.

According to the Washington Post, the blocking of the measure serves to maintain the “status quountil the decision is reviewed by the Supreme Court of the United States. “It will all end there,” warned Clifton Newman.

At issue is a temporary restraining order that appears just 24 hours after the law was passed, and Gov. Henry McMaster said the measure would begin “saving the lives of unborn children immediately.”

“This is a great day for life in South Carolina, but the fight is not over yet. We are ready to defend this legislation against any challenge and we are confident that we will achieve it, ”he anticipated in a statement, even before it was predicted that the law would be paralyzed a day later.
