Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina won the Strasbourg tournament in France for the second time on Saturday, defeating Russian Anna Blinkova in straight sets.

To win her second title in Strasbourg, Svitolina, currently in position 508 in the world ranking, she beat Blinkova, 66, 6-2 and 6-3, in one hour and 33 minutes.

Svitolina won her first tournament after becoming a mother and having retired from professional tennis citing physical and psychological problems caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The former world number three is the lowest-ranked tennis player (508) to win a tournament on the WTA tour, with the exception of some tennis players who won when they were not ranked (Mirjana Lucic-Baroni and Kim Clijsters).
