“He wants to be original.” Zelensky criticizes Lula’s position and regrets that the Brazilian leader “has not found” time to meet with him

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, left this Thursday several criticisms of the performance and position of his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva, in the war that began in the country.

In an interview with several Latin American media, one of them Folha de São Paulo, Volodymyr Zelensky defined Lula da Silva’s position on the war as “original”, as well as the Brazilian president’s proposals to end the conflict.

“Lula wants to be original and we must give him that opportunity”He began by mocking Volodymyr Zelensky, making it clear that Lula da Silva has a question to answer: “Does the president think the murderers should be convicted and jailed?”

Lula da Silva says that Zelensky believes that he is the “king of the coconut”. “He is as responsible as Putin” for the war in Ukraine

“I think that, given the opportunity, he will say yes,” guessed Volodymyr Zelensky, who left another question: “Will he find time to answer that question?” And the President of Ukraine still left a splinter from the fact that Lula da Silva refused to meet with him at the G7 summit in Japan. “He didn’t find time to meet with me, but maybe he has time to answer that question,” she shot.

Even so, the Head of State of Ukraine remains available to meet with Lula da Silva. “I have already offered to hold a meeting in any format. I have already invited President Lula several times to come to Ukraine”, he indicated.

Regarding the Brazilian leader’s visit to Portugal and Spain, Volodymyr Zelensky assured that he was in contact with Lula da Silva’s advisory team, but never received a response.

Still at the G7 summit, the Ukrainian head of state stressed that “it is not true” that the Kiev leaders have not found time to meet with Lula da Silva. Whoever says this is not, according to Volodymyr Zelensky, “serious, substantive people”.
