The operation passed without incident and the Pope will have to stay several days in the hospital.
The Vatican reported today that the night “went well” and that a new medical bulletin will be broadcast during the day, after the doctor who operated on him, Sergio Alfieri, reported that the operation went well, that Francis was awake and that he had, I even made several jokes.
Italian doctors also reported, from the hospital, that the night was “quiet” for the pontiff.
