The Palestinian Authority on Monday called on the United States to prevent the Israeli offensive in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, warning of the “dangerous repercussions” of Israel’s military maneuvers.

Israeli authorities said that about 100,000 people would participate in the operation and argue that the latest units asset of the extremist group Hamas they are in Rafa.

The international community is firmly opposed to this operation, which the Israeli authorities warned about several weeks ago, since the city serves as a refuge for around 1.4 million Palestinians who fled other areas of the enclave, the target of an Israeli offensive. from October 2023.

The current conflict was triggered by a Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which caused around 1,200 deaths, to which Israel responded with an offensive that has already caused around 35,000 deaths, according to estimates by both parties.
