The Public Ministry opened three investigations to investigate attacks on immigrants in Porto

The Public Ministry (MP) opened three investigations to investigate the attacks against immigrants that occurred in the city of Porto in the early hours of Friday, which have already led to the arrest of one person, the Porto Regional Attorney General’s Office (PGRP) reported this Monday. . ).

In a statement, published on its website, the PGRP affirms that it was determined to initiate three investigations, each of them for different episodes, and that they are in charge of the DIAP of the Public Ministry of Porto.

These are the episodes of violence that occurred in the early hours of May 3, committed against immigrants, of Algerian and Moroccan nationality, which, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, could be part of public crimes.

In the same note, the PGR reports that one of the alleged perpetrators of the attacks was arrested in one of the investigations.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect, charged with the crimes of possession of a prohibited weapon and attack on qualified physical integrity, was subjected to the first judicial interrogation, on May 3, and deprived of his freedom under coercion. .
