One person has died and more than 30 have been injured after a flight between London and Singapore was hit by severe turbulence. The information is provided by the BBC, which indicates that it was a Singapore Airlines flight.
The plane, a Boeing 777, requested authorization to make an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, in Bangkok, capital of Thailand. According to the Telegraph, the plane managed to land at 3:45 p.m. local time (a little before 10 a.m. in Lisbon).
Singapore Airlines confirmed the existence of a “fatal victim on board the Boeing 777” and sent its “deepest condolences to the family.” In addition, it was reported that the aircraft, which departed the United Kingdom on Monday night, was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members.
