US moves ahead with new $2.3 billion aid package for Ukraine

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Tuesday announced a new $2.3 billion aid package for Ukraine, including air defense and anti-tank weapons.

“The United States will soon announce more than $2.3 billion (2.14 billion euros) in new security assistance for Ukraine,” Austin said during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Roustem Oumerov, at the Pentagon.

“Make no mistake, Ukraine is not alone and the United States will never waver in our support,” the American said at the start of the meeting with Umerov.
