Zelensky denies Ukraine is at a standstill: ‘It’s not a dead end, it’s a problematic situation’

The Ukrainian leader admitted that the situation is “problematic” but that there is a solution. “We have the will, the tools have not yet arrived,” he warned. He challenged Trump to reveal a plan to end the war.

The Ukrainian President rejected the idea that the conflict is at a dead end with no way out. Assuring that the Ukrainian ranks are stronger than a few months ago, Volodymyr Zelensky assured that a new counteroffensive depends only on the ability to arm the Ukrainian army.

“It is not a stalemate, it is a problematic situation. An impasse means there is no way out. But a problem can be solved if there is the will and the tools to do so,” Zelensky said in an interview with Bloomberg from kyiv. “We have the will, the tools have not yet arrived,” he added.

Zelensky wants a fair peace and Orbán calls for a ceasefire for negotiations

The Ukrainian leader described the delay in the delivery of allied equipment to kyiv as the “greatest tragedy” of the war. “Between the decision and the implementation we have a very, very, very long wait,” he said.

Zelensky also reiterated his refusal to call for a ceasefire, which was proposed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during his visit to kyiv on Tuesday. The head of state noted that although several voices have suggested the same thing, none have ever presented a concrete plan on how it could work: “No one has an answer.”

Zelensky challenges Trump to reveal plans to end the war

In the same interview, Zelensky challenged former US President Donald Trump, who has boasted that he will be able to end the war if he wins a new term in office, to share his plan for lasting peace.

“If Trump knows how to end the war, he should tell us today,” he said. “If there are risks to Ukraine’s independence, if we can lose our state, we want to be prepared for that, we want to know,” he added. However, he made it clear that nothing has changed and that no proposals that call into question Ukrainian sovereignty are acceptable.

Donald Trump: “I will end the war in Ukraine in one day if I am re-elected”

“They cannot plan my life, the life of our people, our children (…) We want to understand if in November we will have the powerful support of the United States or if we will be alone,” he added.
