The arrests took place on three separate occasions. Drugs were found in the luggage and on the bodies of the detainees. Two have already presented themselves for judicial questioning.
Three men were arrested in recent days at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado airport with around 29,000 individual doses of cocaine that they were transporting from a Latin American country, the Judicial Police (PJ) reported on Thursday.
The three men, foreigners aged between 19 and 28, were in possession of large quantities of cocaine that was hidden in their luggage and on their bodies.
If the drug had reached the illicit distribution circuits, It would be enough to manufacture around 29,000 individual doses of cocaine.the PJ indicates in a statement.
“The arrests took place in three separate actions, carried out within the framework of the control that is periodically exercised over the movement of passengers from countries considered to be at risk, in order to prevent the introduction of narcotic products into the national territory and into other European countries, through international airports,” says the PJ.
Two of the detainees were present at their first judicial interrogation and both were in pre-trial detention.
The third will be brought before the judicial authorities for coercive measures to be applied.
