Abdel-Majid Zaraket walks the “Path of the Sun”

The Public Library of the Basel Al-Assad Cultural Center in Tire will host a critical symposium on the novel The Way of the Sun, recently published in Dar al-Bayan al-Arabi by writer and critic Abdel Majid Zaraket ( photo), at the invitation of the Cultural Movement Lebanon ”. The symposium will be presented by writer Maha Abdel-Karim Hessy and will include presentations by writer and novelist Hoda Eid, media personality Imad Khalil and critic Ali Nasr. The events of the novel took place between the southern border village and Beirut, during a pivotal historical period in the history of Lebanon and the region, which preceded the start of the Lebanese war. The book tells about the biography of Lebanese cinema with its forgotten halls, from the beginning of the 20th century until its disappearance. Kababe, who has been fascinated with the seventh art since childhood, views a total of 250 halls spanning the geography of Lebanon, from Burj Square in the capital to Zgharta, which passes through Marjayoun and Baskinta. a narrative stating the number of seats in each of them and their pictures, in addition to posters announcing the sessions and located at that time on the roofs of cinema buildings.
