American streaming platform Netflix announced on Tuesday that it will release the second part of its new spy film The Gray Man, starring Ryan Gosling.

The company said the film, one of Netflix’s most expensive films to date, began streaming on Friday and became the most watched on the streaming service in 92 countries.
Gosling stars in the film as Sierra Six, an ex-convict released from prison by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in exchange for joining a secret program.
Netflix said in a statement that it is currently working with Gosling and directors Joe and Anthony Russo to create a sequel to the film.
The company also announced a standalone film, but did not reveal plot or character details.
This comes after the company revealed last week that it lost 970,000 subscribers between April and June 2022, avoiding the worst-case scenario it had hoped for but showing lower expectations than Wall Street forecasts for the current quarter.

The company plans to launch a new category of ad-supported subscriptions next year and warns that the rising dollar is also affecting subscriber revenue overseas.
Netflix warned last April that it could lose two million customers this quarter, startling Wall Street and raising questions about its long-term growth prospects.
Although the number of subscribers Netflix lost in the second quarter was lower than expected, it is estimated that the number of new customers between July and September will reach a million. Wall Street analysts had expected 1.84 million new subscribers, according to analysts polled by Refinitiv.
In a letter to shareholders, the company said it was still looking into the slowdown, which it attributed to a variety of factors including password sharing, competition and the economic downturn.
Netflix remains the world’s dominant streaming service with nearly 221 million subscribers worldwide.
