Liberian Foreign Minister: We want to set up a joint economic committee with Turkey

Liberian Foreign Minister De-Maxwell Sah Kemaye announced during a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in the capital Ankara, “his country’s desire to establish a joint economic committee with Turkey to be an appropriate reference point for official relations between the two countries.”

He indicated, according to the Turkish Anatolia Agency, that he had met with Oglu 5 times lately and that bilateral relations between the two countries were strengthening, explaining that the meeting with Davutoglu dealt with many files, noting that “we expressed our desire to strengthen our bilateral relations and ties. We talked about ways to develop relations between Turkey and Liberia.”

The Liberian minister said: “We had a long bilateral meeting and this meeting was very beneficial for both countries. When we look at our relationship with Turkey, we find that it is relatively new but very promising,” explaining that “in 1992, Turkey opened the doors of its universities to Liberian students, and Liberian students received scholarships from more than 100 Liberian students from Turkey.
