On Friday on CNN’s The New Day, Senator John Tester (D-MT) said he forced the FDA chief to introduce infant formula “a few months ago” and now the White House is “taking the necessary steps” to address the problem. “Take it seriously and I think they’re moving in the right direction.”
Host John Berman said, “What do you hear from the people of Montana about baby food?” he asked.
The tester replied: “Great concern. And we must do everything we can to fix this ship. In most cases, it is literally a life or death situation. ”
Berman then asked, “And the White House is doing this?” he asked.
The tester said, “I think they’ve taken the appropriate steps now to do that, yes. I pushed the FDA commissioner on this a few months ago, and I think they’re taking it seriously and they’re moving in the right direction.”
