Republican Party Conference Chair Elise Stefanik: ‘We need Trump’s border policy’

Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives agree that by 2023 the GOP majority will press for President Donald Trump to reverse the border policy, GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik Breitbart told News.

“Republicans agreed that we needed to get back to President Trump’s effective border security policy, which was the safest border ever in my life, and it worked.” Sirius XM said Elise Stefanik, who chairs the conference committee that represents all members of the Republican Party in the House. Breitbart Daily News Host Alex Marlow.

This position in the presidency makes him the key spokesperson for the party’s 2022 campaign promises and the leader responsible for delivering on those promises in 2023.

Marlowe asked him about the Republican Party’s reaction to the Border Correction Settlement Plan, recently developed by a mix of different immigration reform groups. The reconciliation plan outlines the steps needed to curb illegal border transfers and was formally presented to 11 to 150 GOP lawmakers, including Stefanik and GOP leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

“Is there anything that might be the highlight of an agreed document or package that may be presented next year?” Marlow asked Stefanik.

Stefanik replied:

Really. President Trump’s return to effective immigration and border security policy – virtually maintaining the rule of law – as well as a very aggressive and essentially clear inspection of DHS failures. [Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mallorcas could not cope with business tasks.

I think… Republicans agree that we need to get back to President Trump’s effective border security policy, which has been the safest border in my life, and it will work.

We see who speaks loudest on this subject – [former ICE chief] Tom Homan is actually a member of mine and always on top, but to hear from the head of the national border guard [on May 11] About the dire conditions and dire situation that law enforcement has brought our women and men to the brink – the whole country and the President of the United States should listen to them. We also have a president who has never been to the southern border.

Stefanik’s support for Trump’s return to politics is remarkable, in part because many GOP donors vehemently oppose Trump’s border restrictions.

Overall, Wall Street investors and state-level business leaders benefit from the large influx of imported buyers, tenants, and workers. But GOP voters are beaten by any influx because immigrants charge fees while increasing housing costs.

The influx of government-led immigrants is also driving investment and wealth from outside communities, as coastal investors reduce the need to take people to, say, the Stefanic region of New York or Alabama. Decreased investment in central cities lowers their income, property values and social status compared to coastal cities, which attract legal and illegal immigrants.

These conflicting demands are forcing GOP politicians to toss between donors and voters. But in 2021 and 2022, Stefanik and other GOP leaders went the extra mile for their populist constituency by blocking some more immigrant, civil and farm worker amnesties, green cards, and some donor-backed requests from Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Russia and Ukraine. visa programs for white collar workers.

“The key questions of the survey are inflation, the economic crisis, labor shortages and workforce growth, as well as the crime crisis and the border security crisis,” Stefanik said. Top. “In all of these matters, we’re very disciplined in messaging, and the survey shows we maintain double-digit leadership in all aspects.”

The consensus plan to set boundaries, which was announced at a meeting with Stefanik on May 11, was signed by various business-backed groups, such as the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

But it has also been signed by populist groups such as the American Federation for Immigration Reform, NumbersUSA, The Remembrance Project, Advocates for Alilegal Alien Crime, Eagle Forum, and the Conservative Partnership Institute.

The document lists simple laws and regulations that block nearly all economic migration to the southern border:

End separate treatment of adjacent and adjacent unaccompanied alien children (UAC) under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) and end the Flores Settlement Agreement, which limits detention of family units to 20 days; and increase the level of reasonable fear;

This

Limit the prosecutor’s decision to remove it as a general justification for limiting immigration practices;

Ensure full implementation of Migrant Protection Protocols (MPPs), also known as “Stay in Mexico,” and allocate adequate funds for permanent forensic facilities along the border at each crossing point. […]

The plan also provides funding to recruit border guards, build a wall, extend detention, and end the entrapment and release of economic migrants. Congress should exclude victims of commercial crime from asylum benefits, ban the easy issuance of work permits to immigrants, narrow limits on lawsuits against immigration courts, and allow states that help enforce federal immigration law.
