Oman’s Oil Minister: Sultanate And Iran Aim To Develop Hengham Oil Field

Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Ramahi stated that “Muscat and Tehran seek to develop the Hengham oil field in concession area No. 8 located in Musandam Governorate on the maritime borders between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran ”, and mentioned that“ The two countries have agreed to develop the field, which should have a common path. For development, it is in the interest of both sides to take more and reduce damage in the field, ”according to IRNA.

Oman’s Energy Minister commented on the memorandums of understanding signed by the Sultanate with the Iranian side, saying “they are related to the development of two gas pipeline projects linking the two countries and the field. of Hengam oil, and had then the Iranian side. Wants to benefit from the re-export gas pipeline and select the best alternatives for gas consumption and meet the needs of large projects ”, noting that the two parties agreed to build a technical team to review the gas pipeline project ”, because“ The gas pipeline-whose agreement was signed in 2013 and has a length of 400 km-is expected to pump approximately 28 million cubic meters of gas within 15 years from Iran to the Sultanate of Oman.
