Strike in CP abolished two trains on the Minho Line

The strike of the workers of CP — Comboios de Portugal suppressed two regional trains of the Miño Line between 00:00 and 10:00, an official company source informed Lusa. “From 00:00 to 10:00, 232 trains were carried out and two were suppressed (0.9% of the suppressions)”, said an official CP source, in response to the Lusa agency.

CP had already warned that the movement of trains should suffer “important disturbances” on June 10, 12, 13 and 16 due to the strike.

Since the beginning of the month there has been a strike of CP workers for overtime and holidays, which lasts until the end of June.

On May 16, CP announced that it had reached an agreement with 12 unions to revise the Company Agreement, leaving three structures out. The workers are protesting against the wage freeze and the blocking of negotiations. The agreement reached involved a salary increase of 0.9%, with retroactive effect to January 1, 2022, the homogenization of the dining room benefit at 7.74 euros and the integration of former EMEF workers in the salary scale of CP, with retroactive effect to the first day of the year.

The agreement also provides for the application to former EMEF workers of the rules established in the CP Company Agreement regarding work organization, assignments and remuneration variables.

The company said that customers who have already purchased a ticket to travel on the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Interregional and Regional trains will be allowed to return the full value of the purchased ticket, or its revalidation, free of charge.
