Goldwein Responsible Budget Committee: Gas tax holiday a ‘scam’ that will boost inflation once it expires

In an episode of an interview published Wednesday in the Fox News Special Report, Mark Goldwein, senior vice chair and senior policy director for the Committee on the Federal Budget for Responsible, criticized the quarterly federal gas tax cut as “a complete gimmick” that would have little effect on it. Stating that inflation will be in the next three months, he said that inflation will be “worse than no holiday” after the feast.

Goldwein said, “This is a complete gimmick. At best, it will reduce the inflation rate by 0.1% over the next three months. And then, when the holidays are over, inflation will be worse than no holiday. ”
