The inflation rate in France in June was 5.8%, the highest since 1985

The inflation rate in France reached 5.8% in June, compared to 5.2% in May, a maximum since 1985, the National Statistics Institute (INSEE) announced on Wednesday.

The increase in consumer prices in June in this country was mainly due to the rising energy prices (+33.1% year-on-year) and, to a lesser extent, to the growth of the prices of services (3.3%), food (5.8%) and manufactured products (2.5%), according to a document published by INSEE on its portal

The INSEE presented this Wednesday the final data on the inflation rate for June this year, which reached a maximum since 1985.

The core inflation rate, which excludes energy and food prices, it was 3.7% in June, the same value registered in May.
