The management company of the electricity distribution network E-REDES registered this Wednesday some occurrences of electricity supply interruptions related to low voltage in the municipalities of Ourém, Ansião, Leiria and Pombal due to the fires.

On Tuesday, the company reported that several parishes in the municipality of Ourém, in the Santarém district, suffered power outages due to fires.

This Wednesday, E-REDES announced that overnight “managed to restore the distribution networks of medium and high voltage energy that had been affected by the fires, in the Ourém area, for which the electricity supply is restored in the affected areas”.
E-REDES remains on alert, closely monitoring the state of the fires and ensuring that the operational teams are mobilized to restore normal service, with all safety conditions, as soon as possible, in coordination with the competent authorities”, added the company official source.
The municipalities of Alvaiázere, Ansião, Leiria and Pombal, in the district of Leiria, as well as Ourém, Santarém, were affected by fires.
Both districts are this Wednesday under red notice due to the persistence of extremely high values of the maximum temperature, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere.
Continental Portugal entered at 00:00 on Monday in a contingency situation, which should end at 23:59 on Friday, but can be extended if necessary.
The declaration of the contingency situation was decided due to the weather forecasts for the coming days, which point to an aggravation of the risk of fire, with temperatures that can exceed 45º in some parts of the country, according to what the Minister of Administration said this Saturday .
