The Economic and Food Security Authority (ASAE) seized a fuel supply equipment for “speculative practice”, at a gas station in Ermesinde, announced today. In a statement sent to Lusa, ASAE explains that, through its National Information and Criminal Investigation Unit (UNIIC), last week it detected, in flagrante delicto, a fuel supply team (simple diesel) in speculative practice.
At stake are “strong indications of the crime of speculation (uneconomic crime) and the crime of falsification of technical notation.”
According to the text, “the inspectors verified that, at the beginning of each supply, after resetting the counter, before the user pressed the nozzle handle of the equipment, the counter changed automatically, starting the count at values above from zero, automatically charging 10 cents, without having made any refueling”.
The equipment in question, says ASAE, “had already been subject to metrological control this year, presenting the respective stamps of validity and compliance, for which it was sealed and seized, in a precautionary manner, for the respective technical expertise.”
The facts were communicated to the Public Ministry.
