Galp wants to reduce gas consumption and hopes not to turn to the market

Galp is doing “everything it can” to reduce its gas consumption and hopes not to go back to the market to guarantee supply, the company’s chief executive Andy Brown said on Monday, admitting some limitations.

In a session with analysts, Galp’s CEO, Andy Brown, assured that the company “is doing everything possible” to reduce gas consumption, hoping not to have to resort to the market again to guarantee supply.

However, Brown pointed out that this will depend on the “compliance with the delivery schedule”.

The CEO of the oil company also said that there were some limitations in the company’s activity during the second quarter, due to the level of supply.

Galp profits skyrocket 153% in the first halfcompared to the same period in 2021, to €420 million, the results reflecting “robust operating performance”, the company revealed.

This figure compares with the net result of 166 million euros last year.
