Brisa Concência Rodoviária made a profit of 91.8 million euros in the first six months of the year, an increase of 76.4% compared to the same period last year, the market was announced this Friday.
According to information sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), between January and June, the company’s profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was US$231.9 million, a year-on-year increase of 38.8%.
For its part, the operating result amounted to 302.4 million euros, above the 231.9 million euros registered in the first half of 2021.
Revenue from tolls rose 31.1%reaching 287.3 million euros.
Operating expenses amounted to 70.6 million euros, 8.9% more than in the same period of the previous year.
As of June 30, Brisa’s gross debt was 1,624 million euros, “having repaid 19.5 million euros in the semester referring to the EIB loan [Banco Europeu de Investimento] and 120 million euros referring to a loan of bonds”.
The investment (capex) in the concession network amounted to 18.8 million euros at the end of June, 58% more than in the same period of the previous year.
Most of this amount went to pavement renovation and expansion works.
The first half of 2022 was characterized by the reduction of restrictions on the movement of people and goods, imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
