German Siemens says it cannot supply Nord Stream 1 turbine to Russia

“The turbine unit of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline has not yet been delivered to Russia,” Siemens Energy CEO Christian Brush said at a meeting with the German Chancellor, noting that “we are very interested in returning the turbine to Russia with the support of the German government, from our point of view view, all documents and customs documents are ready, but we need the participation of the customer, i.e. Gazprom. The documents have not yet been received. So we can not send this turbine, which has been standing here for more than a week.

The German chancellor arrived today at the Siemens plant in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, to inspect a Siemens turbine for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, at a time when Germany is suffering from a shortage of gas supplies.

The turbine got stuck in Germany in the process of being sent from Canada to Russia, and this happened due to the fact that the Russian side did not receive permission to send the turbine, and on August 2, German government spokesman Wolfgang Buechner said that Berlin did not know the location of the Siemens turbine for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.
