The Union of Aeronautics and Airport Workers (Sitava) accepted a salary update, retroactive to January, of 1.5%, after a mediation process with ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal and created a working group for 2023.
After various advances and setbacks, ANA/Vinci decided, once again unilaterally, to reject the proposals that were on the table, namely that of Sitava, and chose to apply as a management act, the increase in the table in 1%, but only and only from April, also paying a differentiated premium to workers”, said the union structure in a statement sent to Lusa.
“And to complete the branch, he promised to pay another 0.3% in December if the results were as expected,” he criticized.
In this context, “Sitava requested the DGERT [Direção Geral do Emprego e das Relações de Trabalho] On April 6, the conciliation procedure was initiated, provided for in the Labor Code, with the aim of trying to reach an agreement with the intervention of the Ministry of Labor,” he said.
Given that ANA was irreducible, Sitava (together with SINDAV) requested the mediation procedure from the DGERT on May 27, also provided for in the Labor Code, where, therefore, it is up to the DGERT to appoint a mediator to be in charge of present a proposal to the parties, having for it a term defined by law, ”said the union.
However, “on July 22, ANA called all the unions to a meeting, where, in order to avoid mediation, they presented a final proposal: 1% in January and 0.5% in Decemberretroactively to January, based on the results achieved at the end of the year”, highlighted Sitava.
The union “expressed its willingness to accept this proposal on the condition that ANA withdraw its dependence on the company’s results at the end of the year, and proceed with the payment immediately,” adding that “it was not possible to reach an understanding about”. day (which would have allowed ANA workers to have already received these amounts) in the face of the refusal of others who preferred to adopt a populist path, but at the same time to the detriment of the workers.”
Sitava was referring to the National Civil Aviation Workers (Sintac) and Commercial Aviation Personnel (SQAC) unions, which announced a strike notice on August 1 at the 10 national airports under concession by Vinci Aeroportos, including the August 19 and 21.

The union structure then highlighted that “on August 1, the DGERT then presented its salary review proposal for 2022, within the framework of the mediation required by Sitava”, together with Sindav (Democratic Union of Airport and Aeronautical Workers).
The proposal goes through1.5% increase in the table with retroactivity to Januarypaid immediately.”
We well know that this value is below fair value, however, faced with inflation of 1.3% in 2021, we believe that this proposal is a clear sign that the company, faced with rampant inflation in 2022, will necessarily have to prepare to negotiate with us in 2023 a salary update that restores the purchasing power lost in 2022″, guaranteed Sitava.
He added that “a working group has already been created that aims to present a wage review proposal for 2023 as soon as possible that responds to the fair demands of the workers.”
