The union pointed to the “worsening of working conditions”, the “increased workloads with inherent fatigue and tiredness”, the “disregard for the effort of the cabin crew to collaborate in the restructuring of the company” and the “ permanent postponement of solutions that allow cabin crew to reconcile their work with the intended objectives of making Portugália a profitable and competitive company” as reasons for the dissatisfaction of professionals.

“Once again, we reinforce that the turbulent period that the aviation sector is going through does not justify everything. Above all, it cannot serve for the arrogance and contempt with which we are continually treated by the Executive Committee of TAP and by the CEO himself. [presidente-executiva da TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener]”, said the SNPVAC, accusing the manager of treating the professionals as if they were another “ACMI service”, that is, an operating lease of aviation services.

The union called on “the company to make a proper and serious reading of this assembly and become aware, once and for all, of the current and general discontent of the crew”, guaranteeing that “this can only be overcome with the respect”. what they deserve

“Otherwise, there will be no alternative to this direction, but to take more disruptive measures, namely the right to strike, addressing the most exacerbated positions of our associates,” he reiterated.

“We are going to start negotiations for a new AE [acordo de empresa] with all our commitment and the seriousness that has characterized us, having as main guideline the resolution of labor problems that affect us; preserving our rights and dignity, without resorting to impulsive or demagogic decisions, which only cause class disunity”, he concluded.
