Infarmed orders Cien brand hair dyes to be withdrawn from the market

The national medicine authority (Infarmed) ordered this Friday the withdrawal from the market of Cien cosmetic products, marketed by the Lidl company, for containing a prohibited substance.

The products in question are for hair colouring, in particular for “Dark Hair”, “Black”, “Chocolate Brazil”, “Castanho Noz”, “Platinum Blonde”, “Light Caramel Blonde”, “Sahara Blonde”, “Golden Blonde” and “Bright Glam Blonde”specifies Infarmed in an informative circular published this Friday on its website.

The National Authority for Medicines and Health Products indicates that, in the framework of an inspection, it verified “the existence in the national market of cosmetic products of the Cien brand, whose distributor is the company Lidl & Cia, which contained in their composition the Butylphenyl methylpropional ingredient.

Infarmed remember that since March 1 Cosmetic products that contain “butylphenyl methylpropional or zinc pyrithione” in their composition cannot be marketed or made available to the consumer.Substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction.

In the circular, the medicines authority warns the entities that have these products that they cannot make them available and calls on consumers not to use these products.
