Workers’ strike caused the suppression of 145 CP trains until 8 in the morning

CP canceled 145 of the 251 trains scheduled between 00:00 and 08:00 this Thursday, on the fourth and last day of the strike by the workers of the carrier and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), according to the company.

CP workers began more strikes on Monday, and the carrier warned of “serious disturbances” until Thursday. at a protest over deadlock in wage negotiations in which Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) also participates.

According to a balance made by CP to Lusa this morning, of the 251 trains scheduled between 00:00 and 08:00, 106 were made and 145 (57.8%) were cancelled.

CP — Comboios de Portugal indicates that 72 regional and interregional trains were scheduled, 39 having been suppressed and 33 executed.

As for urban Lisbon, 115 were planned, 76 were canceled and 39 were carried out.

According to the company, in urban areas of Porto, For that period, 52 were programmed, 29 were executed and 23 were suppressed.

Regarding long-distance trains, 12 were planned, seven were canceled and five were executed.

CP had already warned on Friday of “serious disturbances” in the circulation of trains between 00:00 on Monday and 23:59 today, due to the strike, with minimum services decreed for the four days (25%).

The strike was called by SINFA, the Union Association of Intermediate Directors of Railway Operations (ASCEF), the Independent National Union of Railway Workers (SINFB), the Independent Union of Railway Operators and Allied (SIOFA), the Independent Union Association of Commercial Workers Career Railway Workers (ASSIFECO), National Federation of Transport, Communications and Public Works (FENTCOP), Railway Technical Services (STF), STMEFE – Metro and Railway Workers Union (STMEFE), Sinafe- National Union of Railway Workers of the Movement and Afins and the National Union of Workers in the Railway Sector (SNTF).

At issue is the “deadlock” in wage negotiations with the management of IP and CP, say the unions in a statement.
